The Death of an Iranian Terrorist Leader Leader Kevin McCarthy<republicanleader@mail3.housecommunications.gov> Thu, Jan 2, 2020 at 7:47 PM

McCarthy Statement on the Death of Qassem Soleimani
January 2, 2020 | View Online
Washington D.C. – House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement regarding the death of Qassem Soleimani, the head of the terrorist organization known as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force.

“Over the last month, an Iran-backed terrorist organization attacked American bases in Iraq, killing one American and wounding several others. President Trump responded appropriately by striking known terrorist bases in Iraq and Syria. Iran chose to escalate this situation further by using proxy groups, terrorists, and militias to attack our embassy in Baghdad. In a display of resolve and strength, we struck the leader of those attacking our sovereign U.S. territories.

“Qassem Soleimani was a terrorist. He was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of U.S. soldiers and thousands of innocent Syrian civilians. He funneled weapons into Iraq, used to attack our service members. He smuggled weapons into Yemen to continue a civil war and has worked tirelessly to help prop up the Assad Regime as it killed its own people.

“Today’s confirmation is not only a statement to those seeking to attack America, but it also marks the stark difference between this administration and previous ones. We will not let attacks that kill Americans go unpunished.“

Minutes before the vote, I said something my Democrats hate to hear: Donald J. Trump is President.

He is President today. He will be President tomorrow. And he will be President when this impeachment is over.

Then we voted. And you know what happened next? They cheered. They clapped. They celebrated.

Didn't they claim this was supposed to be a sad and somber moment? How disgusting.

Democrats just signed their own pink slips by voting to undo the results of the 2016 election and impeach the duly-elected President of the United States. Let's not let them forget what they have done.

Kevin McCarthy

P.S. Republicans were 100% united in our opposition, and we will continue fighting to represent the silent majority in America.

Pelosi’s Timeline to Impeachment
December 9, 2019

Speaker Pelosi has officially ordered Chairman Nadler to draft articles of impeachment against President Trump, but let’s not pretend this has not been their plan from the start.

Democrats have claimed they are hesitant or remorseful about impeachment, but their timeline shows they have been plotting to take down President Trump all along:

January 2017: Before President Trump took office, Congressmen John Lewis and Jerry Nadler expressed that they view Trump as an illegitimate President.
January 2019, the first day of 116th Congress: Mere hours after being sworn-in, Rep. Rashida Tlaib proclaims that, “We’re going to impeach the mother-.”
May 2019: Rep. Al Green, the chief architect of their impeachment efforts, admits the Democrats’ mentality when it comes to impeachment: “I’m concerned if we don’t impeach this President, he will get re-elected.”
September 2019: Rep. Ilhan Omar declares that it is not a matter of “if” the President will be impeached, but “when.”
Democrats have wanted to impeach President Trump since before he even took office, facts be damned. This pre-meditated set-up creates a dangerous precedent for our country.

The Censure Resolution of Chairman Schiff

October 16, 2019 |

Moments ago, I spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives to call for the censure of Chairman Adam Schiff.

On numerous occasions, he has used his position to mislead the American people. This censure resolution is about restoring a process that is fair, objective, and fact-based, and you can read it for yourself here.

“We have the solemn duty to find the facts. To be stewards of the truth. It is the truth that must guide our work. When the truth is contorted, twisted, and disregarded, the American people lose. The fabric of our institution starts to erode.

“Sadly, that is exactly what is happening with the House Intelligence Committee under the Democrat leadership. It should not have come to this.

“On numerous occasions—as outlined in this resolution—the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee has used his position to mislead the American people.

“But this resolution is about more than the actions of any one individual. When false evidence is entered into the official record or communicated directly to the American people, the People’s House loses the credibility it needs to function properly. If that credibility is not restored—if the American people cannot trust that the process will be fair and that information will be honestly shared—they will lose trust in the soundness of our system of government.

“That is what this resolution is all about: To protect the integrity of our proceedings, which censure is designed to do. To restore a process that is fair, objective, and fact-based. And to reassure the American people that the stakes and intensity of our current debate will not overwhelm their government.

“We face a critical moment in the life of Congress and the history of this country. It should not have come to this, but it has. This is not a decision we take lightly, but it is the right thing to do.

“I urge all my colleagues to join me in support of this resolution.”
