We've seen this site before, but it has great information on male infertility. There is one condition I have seen a few times but did not mention, and that is testicular torsion. The artery and vein supplying the testicle twist, cutting themselves off. The testicle suddenly loses its blood supply and dies. The dogs I have seen with this are in extreme pain.
