The campus I live in has a huge grassy area and it is not unusual to notice sets of squirrels clambering around running through the grass, leaping.
At most I have been able to spot fifteen of them amiable ambling about with their perfectly furry brown faces and their nice, bushy tails.
Four days ago, I noticed this evil machine that to me looked to be frequenting where the squirrels often munched on grass peaceably.
Well, those horrid contraptions were hired by - to gas the underground network of tunnels that form the squirrels' homes, their burroughs.
It didn't flush them out. It poisoned them!
I AM SO SO FREAKING UPSET.
What an inhumane "solution."
An online advertisement on YouTube was for "Animal Pest Control" about weeding out and murdering cute and furry little rats, and I was just, like, OHMIGOSH NOOOOOO!!!!
Laugh if you will, if you are cruel and not into animals, and don't think there should be people who care about animals, who are precious and sweet unto the Lord. My squirrels are now with the sweet baby Jesus in heaven!
I really cried over this in my room.
Because I also heard that they shot all the coyotes on campus.
Having had my three cockatiels in the past, plus in the Philippines some dogs and, like, seventeen turtles, and then a pair of goldfish, and always being attuned to nature, and loving dolphins and horses and kittens and puppies and such I am so very disappointed, and so so very, very sad!
It is September 11th so if my sweet godson Gilly is reading this, happy birthday, dear, yesterday, and happy birthday month to-day, and please pray for all the innocents of our unhappy, war-beseiged, pollution-ridden planet.
If you could just kindly go to http://www.google.com (I apologize to Europe) and look up "zoo" with your area code, so that if you have kindly weather you can enjoy an affordable, educational, humane place of animals, or perhaps "animal shelter" especially if you are a high school student or college student who needs or wants to help out and volunteer to get to know some of God's more unfortuned creatures, please do so now.
It is so really very good of Florida In The Middle Of The Biggest Hurricane Ever to put their zoo animals into safe(r) shelter bunkers for the duration of the storm.
I love you, dear reader, and to my lovely, lovely, lovely wonderful - family of many, many squirrels I thank you for your intuitive, intelligent eyes and little barks and chirping noises, and thank you very very much because I have been so honored to feed you

+ pizza crusts
+ tomatoes
+ lettuce
+ assorted chips "chipee"
+ cookies
+ vanilla wafers
+ graham crackers
+ mango
+ coconut

+ watermelon

and + cheerios, and the like.
