Being a Protestant is where it is at because I don't believe in the unholy illiteracy of my youth, of many families and primarily women and children, who presume that somewhere around the house is a bible, dusty, forlorn, forever unread.

But I do know I love America, and I love the world because of how I experience America.

I think being a Marine has got to be the toughest thing a person could experience; being in the Army and having been in the front lines and calling all the shots, especially now when the battle against terrorism should mean turning tides for God and peace everywhere, must be pretty hard sometimes, too.
I just wish more of the youth could accept without reticence or faux-ennui that God places the power right here in your hands. Hands to heal and hands to hurt.
